Overview

Explore your passion for food and cookery and make a difference in the lives of young people by launching your teaching career with a Bachelor of Education (P-12) Food Technology specialisation.

This course provides a school partnership based approach to teacher education in which you will develop a broad range of skills and knowledge in classroom practice, as well as learning and teaching.

It comprises compulsory studies in primary and secondary education, and curriculum and teaching practice in each year. The combination of units enable you to develop a major sequence of study for teaching in secondary schools. You will engage in a minimum of 100 days' teaching practice over the four years of the course.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in two units (any study combination) of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.
