Overview

The Bachelor of Education (Primary) allows you to specialise in areas such as science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM), English, humanities/arts, health, physical education, languages or special education.

You'll build abilities in diagnostic learning and special needs while developing your relationship skills. Please note that not all specialisations are available at all campuses.

The foundation year of the course allows you to build strong knowledge around professional literacy and numeracy, with awareness of contemporary approaches to learning.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in one of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

With changes to the education sector being implemented in 2017, we have re-imagined our education courses to prepare you for a range of teaching careers in:

  • non-traditional learning environments, including advisory boards, private organisations and local and state government.
