Overview

This course prepares you to be a primary teacher who is adept in special education so you can nurture the development of those with a disability or learning and behavioural difficulties. You can choose from a range of subject specialisations in English, Mathematics, Health and Physical Education, Indigenous Education, Language (Spanish or Italian), Science and Technologies, Religious Education and The Arts. By selecting religious education and/or theology units, you will be eligible to teach in Catholic and other faith-based schools.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in two units (any study combination) of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: As for year 12 or equivalent; The minimum selection rank for this course, is equivalent to an ATAR of 70.00.
