Overview

This program gives students the skills, knowledge and experience for a stimulating and rewarding career as a Secondary school teacher. Students study discipline content in two teaching areas with experts in the subjects while learning in a flexible, engaging and dynamic environment. Core courses help to deliver graduates who are prepared and confident in their teaching ability for a diverse range of learners. Students learn to design and deliver effective teaching programs from Year 7 to Year 12 with professional experience placements which are guided by, but not limited to two teaching areas. This program is accredited with the Queensland College of Teachers and graduates are eligible to apply for registration as a teacher in school contexts. Potential Career Outcomes

Secondary Schools, opportunities to work in in metropolitan, rural and remote and international schools. Teaching skills are also in demand in other areas, including roles with human services, community-based government organisations and recreation and tourism industries.
