Overview

The Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Arts (Design Innovation and Technologies) is a double degree for students who want to teach technologies in secondary schools.

The Design and Technologies major has been extended to allow students to form a sequence of 13 units, made up of 80cp major and 50cp targeted electives, to gain additional sub-discipline teaching codes.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in two units (any study combination) of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics; Units 3 and 4: satisfactory completion of any Mathematics; Units 3 and 4: satisfactory completion of any English.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: As for Year 12 or equivalent.

Design and Technology, Food Technology, Industrial Technology (Electronics), Industrial Technology (Engineering), Industrial Technology (Graphics and Multimedia), Industrial Technology (Metal), Industrial Technology (Timber), Minor: Digital Technologies (Computing), Textiles and Design.
