Overview

This course is part of Swinburne’s 2021 Early Entry Program. You will be selected for entry based on your subject study scores and school recommendation, instead of your ATAR. To be eligible, you must submit an online application and preference this course in VTAC. Find out more.  

Learn how children learn. Critically review theory and practice in the primary school and early childhood areas. Plan and implement effective teaching and learning in diverse contexts. Develop the skills for the future education workforce by tailoring your electives to a variety of education environments.

Graduates are prepared for employment in a variety of education support, administration or service roles. This degree is not accredited by the Victoria Institute of Teaching (VIT) and will not qualify you to become a teacher.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Potential Career Outcomes

Graduates may work within the field of education in non-teaching roles such as those dedicated to policy, administration or management. Potential employment settings include government, local councils, community programs, galleries and museums, educational agencies, corporate and non-profit groups.
