Overview

This exciting course will equip you with core engineering skills in the fields of electronics, control, telecommunications and power. These key skills drive current and future technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Industrie 4.0., automatic vehicles, robotics, artificial intelligence and green energy which are now major components of the digital economy . Electrical and electronic engineers will find themselves at the forefront of monitoring and actuation system design in a range of industries, such as health, manufacturing, agriculture, defence and space.

This course begins with an introduction to electrical and electronic engineering principles and analysis. Later in the course you will focus on practical applications and case studies with scope to undertake real world projects in the workplace and community. Through this method, you will be able to apply your theoretical and technical engineering knowledge in real contexts, and learn from the expertise of project partners.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.

Majors

Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering).
