Overview

Discover more about engineering and its different fields before deciding which discipline to focus on as you study a common, flexible year. You will learn sound fundamentals in mathematics, statistics, physics, computing, engineering science and communication, mechanics and materials. You will then focus on your chosen major study area from second year.

Engineers support communities by designing and building liveable sustainable cities, they create transport and housing systems, they design and build telecommunications networks, the internet and computers. Engineers design systems to ensure ample clean water for the world's population, to find non-polluting energy.

The first year provides you with sound fundamentals in mathematics, statistics, physics, computing, engineering science and communication, mechanics and materials. You then focus on your chosen engineering major from second year: Architectural, biomedical, civil, computer and autonomous systems, electrical and electronics, environmental, materials, mechanical, mechatronic, mining or telecommunications and Internet of Things engineering.
