Overview

In an age of increasing technological advancements the synergy between engineering and information technology will only become stronger. IT underpins engineering practice in all disciplines and industry needs graduates with skills and expertise spanning both. In this double degree course you will have a choice of two engineering specialisations (Electrical and Computer Systems or Software) and will complement your engineering specialisation with a major in Computer networks and security, enabling you to gain in-demand technical expertise in computer networks and communication and a deep understanding of how software is controlled across cyberspace. You will learn how to develop safe software and design and implement security measures to protect information and keep organisations resilient and operational.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 27 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in one of Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in one of Chemistry or Physics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 (or Year 12 equivalent).
