Your engineering honours degree equips you with the specialist knowledge and skills to be a fully realised engineer in the field of your choice. While in arts, you’ll develop key critical thinking and communication skills to put your passion for a better world into a creative, meaningful career.

All Swinburne degrees include a guaranteed Work Integrated Learning opportunity, which could be a placement, internship or industry-linked project. In this degree, you'll apply your learning in eight projects related to engineering (one per semester) in professionally focused, industry-linked projects.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Potential Career Outcomes

Graduates will be well equipped to find work in both technical and administrative areas. Besides being a professional engineer in a chosen area of expertise, graduates will possess the critical and creative reasoning skills that can be employed in areas such as policy analysis and development, research, community development, administration, public relations, publishing or media.
