With the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) – Bachelor of Business double degree, you will gain both the technical skills of engineering and the interpersonal and entrepreneurial skills of business. You will learn how to build, market, finance, and manage projects. These skills will help you to launch your career, solving some of the world’s biggest problems. Enhancing your educational, academic, and professional qualifications, double degrees allow you to gain two degrees at once, minimising both the time commitment and cost of your studies. They also make you a more competitive candidate in a competitive job market. How do we build liveable and sustainable cities for the future? How can we ensure there is ample clean water for the world’s population? What businesses can we create to change the way we consume energy? On completion of this double degree, you will be able to address these key challenges, graduating with two qualifications and the innovation and entrepreneurship to make a real impact in the world.
You will benefit from the expertise of our teaching staff who are some of the best in their fields. You will study a common first year in engineering designed to help you gain a sound understanding of the fundamentals in mathematics, statistics, physics, computing, engineering science and communication, mechanics and materials. You then choose a major study area to focus on from your second year. As an engineering student at UOW you can gain credit for relevant work experience, either in Australia or overseas, by participating in our Professional Options Program. All students undertake practical hands-on experience with industry for 12 weeks prior to the conclusion of their course. Our engineering degree includes honours-level content integrated throughout the course. As part of the business component of the degree, you will learn core business subjects including accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing, and then later choose a business major to focus on.

If you are undecided which engineering major you wish to specialise in, UOW's Flexible First Year program of common first-year subjects provides an opportunity to learn about all engineering disciplines and decide your major in the second year.
