Overview

Build your understanding of the natural world as you grow your engineering capabilities when you study science and engineering at UOW. Enhancing your education, academic and professional qualifications, double degrees allow you to gain two degrees at once, minimising both the time commitment and cost of your studies. They also make you a more competitive candidate in a crowded job market. How do you design and build liveable and sustainable cities? How is climate change impacting nature? On completion, you will be able to answer these questions and more as you develop a thorough understanding of engineering and the skills and knowledge to meet the needs of tomorrow's employers.

Design the career of your choice as you build highly competitive skills based on experiential learning. You will benefit from faculty who are some of the best in their fields, driving cutting-edge research and solutions to global issues. You will learn core fundamentals in your first year of both degrees before deciding which major discipline and electives to focus on from the second year. You will participate in practical classes in our purpose-built Sciences Teaching Facility and be exposed to honours-level content integrated into the engineering course. Throughout this double degree, you will gain hands-on experience, make meaningful professional connections and have the opportunity for workplace-based projects, or traditional research projects. You will also gain practical experience during an engineering placement where you will gain highly valued industry experience.
