Overview

The Bachelor of Engineering Technology prepares students for a versatile career in engineering as a specialist in technology. With options to major in traditional engineering disciplines or aircraft maintenance engineering (avionics or mechanical). Choosing the civil, electrical or mechanical majors allows students to build in-depth knowledge of engineering concepts and be highly trained in software, simulating modelling and the ability to assist engineers with the technology design and systems management in an engineering project.

Delivered in partnership with Aviation Australia, the aircraft maintenance (avionics or mechanical) provides an accelerated pathway to reach the Licence Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) status in just three years, usually requiring five years. Students will study on-campus at the Aviation Australia Brisbane campus for the first 1.5 years and complete the remaining 1.5 years with CQU either on-campus or online.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 26 in any English; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 26 in any Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or Avionics; or Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 26 in any English; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 26 in any Mathematics.

Aircraft Maintenance - Avionics, Aircraft Maintenance - Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical.
