Overview

This double degree combines studies in environmental science with business management principles and practices to ensure graduates are well-equipped to implement environmental policy in a business context.

As a double degree student, you may extend your career opportunities into future management positions as you:  
  • gain considerable hands-on experience with equipment both in the laboratory and in the field;
  • take part in field trips as an integral part of the learning process;
  • work on collaborative projects with industry, generally in small teams; and
  • develop a sound understanding of the principles of business management. 

You will choose to specialise in either environmental biology or environmental chemistry.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Potential Career Outcomes

The type of careers this qualification leads to may include consultancies or analytical services in forestry, government, manufacturing and production, mining and services, private companies, recycling and treatment companies and water authorities.
