Overview

Exercise scientists work with an extensive range of people. These include elite athletes looking to take their performance to greater heights, those who’ve sustained a physical injury, workplace health and safety practitioners, and medical and allied health professionals. They work in private practice, hospitals, gyms, aged care, government agencies or for sports teams. 

The Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science combines practitioner-led in-class instruction with professional and practical experience via hands-on learning and placements. You’ll study anatomy; biomechanics; exercise physiology; human growth, development and ageing; motor learning and control; performance analysis; and strength and conditioning. 

Your learning will be enhanced by our outstanding new exercise and sports science facility, which includes industry-standard strength and conditioning, and exercise and sport science testing equipment.

This degree was awarded qualifying accreditation in 2022 and will be considered for full accreditation in 2023/2024.

Career opportunities

Accredited exercise scientist, community recreation and fitness officer, health promoter and educator, personal trainer, sports coach, sports injury specialist, strength and conditioning coach. After further study: exercise physiologist, physiotherapist. After industry experience: sports scientist.
