Overview

Look at the effect of exercise on human performance when you study exercise science at UOW. You will learn how to design, implement and evaluate exercise and physical activity for a wide range of people within the community. Study anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and more as you gain a basic understanding of the anatomical and physiological basis of human motion.

How does exercise affect human performance in sport, aging and healthy living? What is the anatomical and physiological basis of human motion? On completion, you will be able to answer these questions and more as you develop the skills to meet the needs of tomorrow's employers.

Design the career of your choice as you build highly competitive skills through enquiry-based learning. You will benefit from faculty who are some of the best in their fields, driving cutting- edge research and solutions to global issues.

You will study anatomy, physiology, exercise physiology, exercise prescription and biomechanics. You will gain an understanding of the anatomical and physiological basis of human motion and the effect of exercise, injury and disease on human performance in sport, industry and in healthy living.

You will participate in practical classes in our purpose-built Sciences Teaching Facility and be exposed to the latest advances in technology. Put into practice your learning as you complete 140 hours of placement in a community, sporting, scientific or commercial exercise setting.

Throughout this degree, you will gain hands-on experience, make meaningful professional
connections and have the opportunity for practical placements where you'll develop your skills on real people, in a real-world setting.
