Overview

This course looks at the business side of fashion, covering fashion buying, product management, distribution, retail and marketing. This career-focussed course combines the creativity of the fashion sector with the commercial acumen demanded by the global market, covering innovations in digital technology, emerging trends in consumer behaviour and insight to sustainability and ethical issues. 

Students will study subjects that give deep understanding of the business, consumer and social influences that make fashion happen, and have the opportunity to select pathways reflecting their personal career ambitions.

Students learn from leading academic and industry figures and study real-world scenarios to gain critical insight and the creative and commercial skills necessary to become fashion professionals.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

This qualification can lead to fashion industry management careers in roles such as buying, merchandise planning, fashion allocation, fashion product development, fashion retail and eCommerce, fashion marketing, fashion brand management and PR, digital marketing, fashion range planning, sourcing management, fashion logistics management, fashion trend analysis and general fashion business management.
