Overview

In this degree, you’ll receive hands-on education in film and screen media production. You'll learn how to work in a team to bring your vision to life for the screen, while gaining a thorough grounding in the history, practice and critical analysis of film and new technologies, including virtual production. Your academic learning will be enhanced through regular exposure to national and international artists-in-residence working in different areas of film and screen media production. With access to state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll benefit from our deep industry connections and engagement opportunities embedded throughout your degree. Your studies will be enhanced by supervised work placements and practical experience, including at LiveLab, the commercial production facility operated by Griffith Film School, where you’ll be engaged to produce work for clients and industry. You will also take part in a major production project in your third year, working with an industry-sized crew to produce a short drama, documentary or other screen media program. Potential Career Outcomes

Depending on your areas of specialisation, you may find roles in the mainstream film and television industries (production, post-production, virtual production, screen distribution), commercials, music videos, corporate videos, streamed online content, film festivals and awards, and video/digital art practice.
