Queensland University of Technology - Kelvin Grove
This program features a hands-on, studio-based learning approach that provides depth of knowledge in your chosen study area. You collaborate with students and teaching staff from across disciplines to reflect industry practice, work on real-world projects briefed by real clients, and get career planning assistance to help you on your creative journey. With transdisciplinary project-driven capstone experiences in your final year, you are prepared for a highly professional and entrepreneurial approach to your creative practice. In the dance major, you receive training in a broad range of genres and choreographic experiences that may include jazz, hip-hop, breakdance, capoeira, ballet, contemporary or swing. Studies include safe dance practice, facilitation of dance-led experiences and dance for screen. The course prepares graduates to move into careers as dance teachers, choreographers, researchers and academics, community dance artists, private dance studio owners, and dance health professionals. You can take complementary studies from creative industries or other faculties across the university.
