This cutting-edge degree embraces the growing demand for food technologists equipped with robust business expertise. You’ll gain comprehensive technical knowledge to thrive in the food industry while developing the business skills to design and promote innovative products. The curriculum spans foundational studies in food technology, nutrition, and business, progressing to advanced subjects in food microbiology, food processing and entrepreneurship in nutrition. In your third year, you continue your business studies by making personalised major and minor selections from a suite of options, including supply chain and logistics, innovation and enterprise, and marketing, based on your individual career aspirations. In your final year, you'll advance your knowledge through specialised subjects and the potential for industry-linked projects, honing your skills to thrive in large-scale food processing companies with a global focus, driving competitiveness in Australian food manufacturing.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
