Flinders University - Bedford Park Campus
This combined degree produces graduates capable of surveying, analysing and managing spatially related information in a variety of locations. Surveyors spend time both in and out of the office working with civil engineers, architects, and regional and urban planners to develop comprehensive design documents. They work outdoors in many types of terrain, and they also work indoors to prepare legal documents and other reports.
Students will be provided with strong links with community, industry, and government departments, and have industry networking opportunities while completing an applied research project working with cutting-edge technologies.
Surveyors are in extremely high demand and this double degree meets a growing need for qualified surveying and GIS professionals. There is a strong demand for Surveying and GIS skills across a range of areas including biodiversity and natural resources management, urban planning, mining and exploration, archaeology, transportation, and infrastructure management.
The course has been constructed so that completion of the Bachelor of Geospatial Information Systems/Bachelor of Surveying double degree meets the Surveyors Board of South Australia requirements to become a Licensed Surveyor. Completion of the Bachelor of Geospatial Information Systems component supplies 30 educational points towards GIS-AP Certification from the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute.
The ATAR and Selection Rank profile is not available as this is a new course.
