Overview

In this degree, you’ll explore health issues, using a combination of disciplines to understand how different areas of human biology and environmental factors relate to health and disease. If you’re interested in health and medical sciences, but not sure which area you want to specialise in, the Bachelor of Health Science is one of the most flexible and innovative programs of study in the future of health. It is grounded in chemistry, cell biology, anatomy, physiology, genetics and microbiology. With a wide range of electives including nutrition, climate change and toxicology and majors including environmental health, environmental toxicology, information technology and communication and media, this degree enables you to design a program of study that suits your interest and aims, whether that is launching your career or further postgraduate study. It looks at health through a combination of disciplines to explore how different areas of human biology and environmental factors relate to health and disease. Prerequisites

Majors

Communication and media; environmental health; environmental toxicology, information technology. Non-major options also available.

Potential Career Outcomes

Depending on your major, you may work as an environmental health professional, in managing information technology in health settings, or in health communication and media. Our diverse electives will also help equip you for careers in a range of scientific and allied professions, including working as a scientific advisor, pathology technician, industry representative, technical sales specialist, laboratory technician or research assistant. As a graduate, you’ll be well placed to apply for our graduate-entry medical degree, the Doctor of Medicine, or medical research programs.
