Overview

The Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Clinical Audiology package allows you to combine an interest in medical research, health and rehabilitation with a career in audiology.

You’ll learn about human biosciences, the role of health professionals, and factors that influence health locally and around the world. Major options include subjects in public health, epidemiology, global health initiatives, physiology, anatomy rehabilitation counselling, and many more.

Graduates who meet the entry requirements for the Master of Clinical Audiology can turn their background in anatomy and physiology into specialised knowledge and skills. You’ll learn how to prevent hearing, tinnitus and balance disorders, plus assessment techniques and identifying treatment options.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Audiology (Master of Clinical Audiology only), Health and medical sciences, Health promotion, Health, wellbeing and performance, Public health, Rehabilitation counselling.

Potential Career Outcomes

Skilled health science professionals can gain employment in a variety of roles that include public health manager, health promotion coordinator, rehabilitation counsellor and occupational health and safety officer.

Qualified audiologists can find work in the public health and not-for-profit sectors, or in private clinics.
