Overview

The Bachelor of Healthy Ageing (Online) is multidisciplinary and aims at preparing students to work with older people and to consider and develop new opportunities within ageing societies across the globe. It provides students with foundation skills in ageing studies and covers a broad spectrum of knowledge such as experience of ageing, psychological wellbeing and physical activity, along with areas such as elder abuse and neglect, popular culture and ageing, and dementia.The course is available via online study only, with each topic completed over a 9-week time frame. Flinders is committed to providing online students with the same quality education that on-campus students have come to expect. Virtual classrooms provide access to expert teaching staff and online student lounges enable students to interact and share knowledge in a supportive online community. Flinders University has been providing distance education and serving the needs of external students for over 30 years.Graduates may find employment in ageing/aged care services, as managers, health services and local council/government staff, consultants, policy analysts and service/program developers. In addition there are opportunities for the development and delivery of new products and services to our ageing community.
