Overview

Study the functioning of, healthy human body and the impact it has on, person's holistic wellbeing biologically, socially and psychologically.

Tailor your degree to your interests and career goals through primary streams in Health and Physical Education or Exercise and Sport Science with the ability to choose, secondary study stream in, wide range of study areas.

Build strong foundational knowledge in human anatomy, physiology, health and physical activity, motor development and ageing. Broaden your knowledge through studies in nutrition, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor control and sociology.

Depending on your course selection, you'll graduate with the skills to complete client screenings, conduct laboratory and field testing, design and implement exercise and training programs, and interpret scientific research.

Learn in dedicated teaching facilities, including our on-campus environmental chamber (used for altitude testing), along with specialist anatomy, biomechanics and exercise physiology laboratories. You'll also complete an industry placement during your studies.

Package this degree with, Master of Teaching (Secondary) to teach Health and Physical Education to Year 12 and Science to Year 10.

Pre-Placement Requirements:

All students who, as part of their program, undertake activities where interaction with patients/the public is required, such as in field or clinical placements/visits and in University clinics and gyms, must satisfy the pre-placement requirements prior to commencement. These may include:

  • Criminal history screenings
  • Department of Human Services (DHS) checks
  • Vaccinations and screening for communicable diseases
  • Professional training and certification

CAREERS Depending on your course selection, your career options can include: Sport development officer, health and wellbeing adviser, sports coach, outdoor education practitioner, community and allied health worker, human movement practitioner, teacher (with further study)
