Build your knowledge across underlying sciences, IT, engineering and mathematical methodologies when you study information technology at UOW. You will study real-world projects and interact with and learn from industry professionals to ensure their job readiness upon graduation.
How do you design and create the IT systems we all rely on? What's next in the technology revolution across communication, business, and the way we experience the world? On completion, you will be able to answer these questions and more as you are prepared to make a positive impact on student learning.
You will benefit from faculty members who are some of the best in their fields in this specialised profession. You will learn core fundamentals in the first year of your degree before deciding which major discipline to focus on from the second year. For students who do not wish to specialise with a major, you will complete advanced subjects providing you with specific knowledge while also instilling you with professional knowledge and skills in information technology. In your final year you will develop your own application as part of an annual student team project, developing solutions to real-world problems provided by our industry partners. Throughout this degree, you will gain hands-on experience, make meaningful professional connections and have the opportunity for practical placements where you'll develop your skills in a real-world setting.
For 754305 Liverpool campus: Only the 'no major' option is available for this course. There is an opportunity to specialise in the network design and management major from your second year. There are opportunities to complete additional majors at the Wollongong campus. You can also complete a double major from computer science or information technology.
Network design and management, web design and development. Throughout your degree you will study a common core of subjects that links our computer science, IT and business information systems degrees. You can choose to complete two majors from either Bachelor of Information Technology or include a major from the Bachelor of Computer Science.
