Learn how to create modern software programs through La Trobe's major in software engineering.

Offered through La Trobe's Bachelor of Information Technology, you'll develop skills across algorithms and data structures, full stack web development, user interface design, measurement and testing principles, and cloud-based web and mobile applications.

La Trobe's Bachelor of Information Technology gives you hands-on skills across programming, networking, databases, systems analysis and design, and project management. You’ll be able to choose a major in areas aligned to future industry growth, including artificial intelligence, cloud analytics, data science, network engineering, software engineering or information systems.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Software engineering.
