Overview

Are you looking to become an IT professionals ready to manage and innovate in any challenging business IT environment? Graduates of this degree will be well placed to act as the bridge between the business needs of an organisation and the computing professionals required to provide the technical solutions. The course provides education in both the theoretical and the practical aspects of information technology and enterprise systems management, preparing graduates for roles such as business analyst, ICT project manager or consultant. The course offers national best practice work experience and job placement, preparing you for the needs of the South Australian, Australian and international technology industry and public service sectors. This course is accredited by the Australian Computer Society at the professional level. Professional ICT courses accredited by the Australian Computer Society are recognised internationally under the Seoul Accord. Graduates meet the academic requirements for attaining chartered status as ICT professionals.

Students in this course can study both business and information technology topics, design enterprise systems and work with external partners to develop business systems for a wide range of industries.

They will have the opportunity to engage with multi-disciplinary teams from across the University in the design and construction of information systems, gaining insight into the current trends in enterprise systems and its use.

Graduates with qualifications in business information systems are in high demand across a broad range of industries such as commerce, education, industry and government. This degree will prepare graduates to work across the IT industry using their business knowledge to enable them to bridge the gap between business needs and the possibilities information systems can bring.
