Overview

Get equipped with the skills to design and implement local and internet-wide communication systems. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of computer security, communications technology, administration, network engineering, enterprise systems and information networks. Graduates possess high-demand qualifications for the technology-driven marketplace. This degree is accredited by the Australian Computer Society at the professional level and is recognised internationally under the Seoul Accord.

Please note only Year 1 topics of this course will be available in 2024. If you have been granted credit transfer or wish to apply for credit transfer for this course on the basis of previous study and you are granted credit, this may mean you will not be able to enrol in Year 2 or higher year topics, nor able to enrol on a full-time basis until 2025.

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Network and Cybersecurity Systems) has been designed to provide a strong foundation in both the theoretical and the practical aspects of network systems and information technology more generally. This degree provides a comprehensive understanding of computer security, communications technology, administration, network engineering, enterprise systems and information networks.

On completion of the degree students will be able to competently use professional skills and knowledge in the systematic development of complex networked information systems and demonstrate a broad understanding of the information technology and network systems disciplines.

This degree prepares graduates to be able to design implement, maintain and manage networked computer systems. Potential occupations may include network engineer, cloud applications net developer and information technology security analyst; potential employers may include information technology services, educational institutions and the defence industry.
