This degree provides the foundations that will underpin ongoing professional development, preparing graduates for further study or for a career in a computing related field or in other areas where the range of skills and knowledge acquired is needed or desirable.
On completion of this degree students will be able to competently use professional skills and knowledge in the systematic development of complex information systems and demonstrate a broad understanding of the information technology discipline. Students will be able to apply skills and knowledge in a professionally responsible manner and communicate effectively with other information technology professionals and the wider global community using a wide range of communication technologies.
This degree prepares graduates for employment in IT, an area of continual growth and has become integral to all areas of life including medical research, business, and the environment. Potential occupations may include application support analyst, business intelligence consultant and graduate developer; potential employers may include software developers, customer support and service and website developers.
This degree is accredited by the Australian Computer Society at the professional level and is recognised internationally under the Seoul Accord.
