Overview

The Bachelor of Information Technology Professional has been designed for those high achieving students and those who learn by practice. NBIP offers the opportunity to engage in a 12-month placement in the IT industry as part of the degree. Students will gain valuable insight into the work environment as IT professionals, mentored by workplace colleagues, lecturers and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) supervisor/s. Participation in professional development opportunities, seminars, networking events and project management will contribute to the outstanding ‘job-ready’ graduate after spending two semesters in placement. The college will help students organise industry placement opportunities, or students can organise on their own where their main activities should be IT-related activities. This course focus on areas of high job-demand: web development, mobile application development, network and system computing, cybersecurity, cloud app development and big data analytics.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.

Majors

System Computing, Web and Mobile Application Development Network.

Potential Career Outcomes

The type of careers this qualification leads to may include mobile app developer, cloud app developer, computer and network support, website developer, and database administrator.
