Overview

Want to address global population health issues and join a workforce that operates across borders? Unlike other Australian undergraduate public health programs, the Bachelor of International Public Health (BIPH) is internationally integrated with emphasis on courses aimed at improving the health of populations worldwide. Students explore a diverse range of case studies spanning international contexts and population health issues and priorities. Courses focus on infectious disease challenges, Indigenous and environmental health, women and children’s health, and global chronic disease prevention. International Public Health students will also complete a capstone experience in the final year. This may include the option of either an internship placement, study abroad tour or research project.

With flexible learning options including on-campus and online (full-time and part-time), you can tailor the program to suit your needs. Our multidisciplinary teaching team has extensive experience in global public health and have active roles in influencing health policies and strategies to support population health in Australia and overseas. You’ll study with students from Australia, the United States and around the world, bringing a global perspective to your education. The Bachelor of International Public Health provides a starting point to a
career in international public health or international development.

International public or population health – epidemiology, health promotion, surveillance and disease prevention; contributing to population health programs in local or state health departments; designing and/or evaluating interventions to reduce the burden of disease while working in a multinationals and development agency; research career in public health; higher studies, such as a graduate medical program, Master program or PhD.
