Overview

Focus your career interests on the intercultural dimensions of development practice in a diverse and globalising world. Gain global knowledge and skills in development and humanitarian assistance, gender issues in development, political economy, inequality, human rights and social justice, intercultural, social, and linguistic issues and processes, Indigenous affairs, social innovation and community project design. Undertake a professional internship with an international development organisation either in Australia or overseas and have access to overseas exchange programs and study tours as part of a close-knit and vibrant student community.

Graduates possess the initiative, independence, language and entrepreneurial skills to face the challenges of working and managing within and across culturally diverse environments, and land upon careers ranging from practising community development to working on development policy in a government or international agency.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
