Bachelor of International Studies (Global Security)

In this course, students engage with the challenges of peace and security in a complex world. They will build global knowledge and skills in foreign policy, global diplomacy and negotiation, arms control, humanitarian and development assistance, political economy, intercultural, social, and linguistic issues and processes.

Students will also undertake a professional internship with an international security-related organisation either in Australia or overseas and have access to overseas exchange programs and study tours as part of a close-knit and vibrant student community.

Graduates possess the initiative, independence, language and entrepreneurial skills to face the challenges of working and managing within and across culturally diverse environments. From security policy and research in Canberra to serving in the Australian armed forces or working as an international diplomat, graduates of this program land upon a range of careers across the globe.
