Overview

The journalism component develops skills in collecting, assembling, analysing and presenting information. Students develop strong skills in language and gain a good understanding of the media. Students have the chance to complement their journalism training through domestic and international field trips and internship opportunities. Gain valuable insights into current practice through an on-site media and production support team, and industry professionals from leading media outlets. The arts component develops skills in written communication, problem- solving, critical thinking and interpersonal understanding. Prerequisites

Majors

Refer to Bachelor of Arts. Students cannot complete the journalism and mass communication or professional writing and communication majors in the Bachelor of Arts.

Potential Career Outcomes

Print; radio; television; multimedia; public relations; marketing and communications; public service; online content development; TV; publishing. Many large corporations employ journalists in a range of communications and public relations positions.
