Overview

This double degree is designed to prepare secondary school teachers as specialist language teachers and offer high achieving students additional challenging material to enable them to maximise their intellectual growth and potential. Students will be provided with the background and skills necessary to enter the teaching profession with confidence and competence. Students will gain knowledge of curriculum studies and education studies and undertake professional experience which brings together theory and practice in school settings. All students will undertake a program of study with a focus on language disciplines that are taught in secondary schools.

On successful completion of this double degree students will be able to teach two of the following secondary school subject disciplines such as French, German, Italian, Japanese, Modern Greek, Spanish and English as a Second Language.

On completion of the Master of Teaching qualification, graduates will be eligible to apply for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
