While the pace of technological and social change within the legal profession is unrelenting, Flinders Law students will graduate well-prepared to take advantage of new opportunities and to make a difference in a challenging, rewarding field. They will develop high-level communication, presentation and collaboration skills in preparation for future roles in a range of settings. If students focus is not admission to practice, the Bachelor of Laws allows for faster completion. Our course is designed to equip students with the knowledge to work in the emerging areas of data protection and cybersecurity, blockchain, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and social justice innovation, with a suite of core topics exploring the relationships between the law and technology. Students will develop an innovation and entrepreneurial mindset to respond to 21st century opportunities, and have international study opportunities available in China and Indonesia.
Extensive opportunities exist for Flinders accounting graduates across business, government and not for profit sectors, both in Australia and internationally. They will develop a strong multidisciplinary focus, giving them a competitive edge in the marketplace. Students will learn about new technologies and be prepared for the ever-changing future of the industry by exploring a degree focused on sustainability, principled practices and Indigenous impact. They can learn how to analyse, interpret and communicate financial information by applying accounting principles, and develop skills in accounting principles, financial accounting processes, financial management and corporations law. Students will develop the expertise and competencies to adapt and thrive in the fast paced financial, consulting and accounting sectors, and learn to think beyond the traditional definition of accounting: focusing on sustainability, principled practices, new technologies, Indigenous impact, and the ever-changing future of the industry.
Graduates of the Law degree must also complete a practical legal training course to make them eligible to apply to the Supreme Court for admission to practise as a barrister and solicitor in South Australia.
