This combined degree allows students to complete qualifications in Laws and Business with a combined study plan to reduce the overall duration of the course. In the Bachelor of Laws - Legal Practice Entry, you'll focus on legal skills and critical perspectives on the function of law. You'll develop high-level communication, presentation and collaboration skills in preparation for future roles in a range of settings. If your focus is not admission to practice, the Bachelor of Laws - Legal Practice Entry allows for faster completion. Positioned adjacent to the Adelaide Railway Station on North Terrace and central to trams and buses, Festival Plaza provides students with greater connection, convenience and accessibility when selecting their preferred study location.

Please note only Year 1 topics of this course will be available in 2024. If you have been granted credit transfer or wish to apply for credit transfer for this course on the basis of previous study and you are granted credit, this may mean you will not be able to enrol in Year 2 or higher year topics, nor able to enrol on a full-time basis until 2025.

While the pace of technological and social change within the legal profession is unrelenting, Flinders Law students will graduate well-prepared to take advantage of new opportunities and to make a difference in a challenging, rewarding field. Designed to equip students with the knowledge to work in the emerging areas of data protection and cybersecurity, blockchain, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and social justice innovation, with a suite of core topics exploring the relationships between the law and technology.

Develop an innovation and entrepreneurial mindset to respond to 21st century opportunities, this course has international study opportunities available in China and Indonesia.

Our criminology students learn from the largest and most-experienced criminology team, which has built its reputation over 40 years, with state-of-the-art facilities to learn in. They have the opportunity to undertake an Industry Project, where they will complete research and provide insights to an industry partner - who could be a future employer. Criminology graduates have enjoyed a wide choice of careers and diverse employment trajectories in Australia and overseas. Many move into employment in the criminal and social justice sectors. Others work across various government, not for profit support and welfare services that are crucial to positive justice outcomes for the community, including people who have been victims of crime, and people who have offended.

Graduates of the Law degree must also complete a practical legal training course to make them eligible to apply to the Supreme Court for admission to practise as a barrister and solicitor in South Australia.
