Overview

Combine a recognised legal education with practical insight into the rapidly evolving media industry.

The Bachelor of Laws provides a global and social justice perspective with specialised subjects relevant to media, such as Intellectual Property Law and Competition Policy and Law. Electives allow you to study areas of international advocacy, clinical legal education, mediation and negotiation.

The media and communication component takes a digital-first approach to the converging fields of film, radio, television, new media and communications. You can choose to major in media industries, journalism or public relations, and you'll have access to professionals from a range of media backgrounds.

During your studies, you’ll have the opportunity to gain practical real-world experience by applying your legal skills in our moot court, working in our strategic communications agency, completing a law or media placement, or contributing to our digital publication, Upstart Online.
