Overview

Become a highly skilled and employable graduate by developing fundamental business and legal knowledge and skills for a professional role in the legal industry. These roles extend to public and private sector organisations including law firms, government agencies, NGOs, in-house legal departments, and industry compliance areas.

You will develop skills in legal problem-solving, critical and reflective thinking, effective communication in legal writing and drafting, and technology proficiency. You will also engage with important ethical principles and develop appropriate professional conduct towards clients, employers, and community. This course is well suited to those seeking careers as legal administrators, legal executives, compliance officers, paralegals and other legal support staff.

Minors available as part of this course include: Commercial and Corporate Law, Law in a Legal Context, Private Law and Rights and The Law.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Majors

Advanced legal services, Law profession.
