Students develop a solid understanding of sequential steps associated with the design, development, planning, promotion, and implementation of events of different purpose, scale, and scope. There is an emphasis on innovation, along with evaluation of the political, economic, and social contexts in which events are made meaningful. Subjects develop the knowledge and professional skills necessary to embark on a career in the events industry.
Bachelor of Management (Sport Business) prepares students to work in the multi-billion- dollar global sport industry. This sector continues to experience significant growth in professionalism, revenue generation, and employee volume at all levels, whether in the professional or community sport sectors. UTS has industry connections across multiple codes of sport as well as national and international sports bodies. Through the development of applied knowledge and the opportunity of workplace internships, students gain a thorough understanding of the Australian and international sports industries, the role sport plays in culture and society, and the interrelationships between sports bodies and their key stakeholders.
