With our Bachelor of Media and Communication, you'll learn how to tell stories across any medium.

At La Trobe, you'll specialise with one major in journalism, sports media, media industries, creative and professional writing, or marketing – then explore your interests with an optional second major, minors and electives from across the university.

Gain real-world experience by taking on an industry placement, studying overseas through international exchange or showcasing your work alongside other emerging professionals as part of La Trobe's own Upstart and Upstart Live.

Our industry-grade newsroom boasts a three-camera television studio, professional radio broadcast spaces, a dedicated audio recording studio and digital editing suites.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Creative and professional writing, Journalism, Marketing, Media industries, Sports media.
