Overview
A number of medical places are reserved for domestic school leaver applicants who wish to undertake all of their clinical training in years 3 and 4 and part of year 5 in hospitals and community-based practices in regional or rural settings in Victoria. This extended rural training option is provided for students interested in practising medicine in a rural or regional location. Details on the scheme can be found at Extended Rural Cohort
This offering is only available to applicants who have completed Year 12 studies (or VCE equivalent) no more than two years prior, and have not undertaken any other studies at a tertiary level including Cert IV. International students may not apply for this option. The Dean's Rural List and the Monash University Indigenous Student Access Scheme are applicable as explained for Medicine - school leaver entry.
