The medical program at the University of Adelaide has a six-year full-time duration which leads to the awards of Bachelor of Medical Studies and Doctor of Medicine.

The Bachelor of Medical Studies is the first part of our combined medicine program. Upon completion, you'll gain direct entry into our Doctor of Medicine to complete your training as a practice-ready doctor. Bonded Medical Program (BMP) eligibility: The BMP Scheme is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia and New Zealand citizens who held a New Zealand Special Category Visa on or before 26 February 2001. The BMP requires you to enter into a contract with the Australian Government to provide medical services in an area of workforce shortage for some time following graduation.

The University of Adelaide cannot make any assumptions about an applicants eligibility or willingness to enter into the BMP agreement before making an offer of a bonded medical place in the Adelaide medical program.
