Overview

Pursue a professional career in music and integrate the development of practical skills with theoretical and historical musical knowledge in this course. Students undertake practical study in their chosen instrument or voice for the first three years of the program, as well as courses in musicology, musicianship, and electives in other music study areas, followed by a research project in the final year of the program. Students have opportunities to take part in master classes and student performances, including the Vice-Chancellor’s Concert Series. Potential Career Outcomes

Performer; music educator; music journalist; music composer; orchestral or choral conductor; recording/sound engineer; arts administrator; diversional therapist (further study required). Special note: To specialise in music education, enrol in the Bachelor of Music (Honours)/Bachelor of Education (Secondary).
