Overview

As a Bachelor of Musical Theatre graduate, you’ll have undertaken the many facets of training to become highly skilled, musically adaptable and ready to enter professional life as a creative and flexible 21st century musical theatre performer. In this degree, you’ll be exposed to diverse musical theatre styles and to the broadly accepted musical skills of aural awareness training, music theory and ensemble work appropriate to this genre. Studying musical theatre at the Queensland Conservatorium will provide you with intensive practical training in acting and improvisation, speech, voice, singing, dance and movement, focused on producing a versatile performer—one who is proficient in singing, acting and movement. The productions we build into the degree emulate performace standards, thereby providing you with authentic performanec experiences. You may find opportunities in singing, acting and dancing; cabaret, theatre, television, film and musical theatre performance; entertainment mediums such as festivals, theme parks and cruises.
