Overview

Discover the biological basis of behaviour and learn about how the brain links to human behaviour when you study neuroscience at UOW. You will build a sound understanding of the molecular, neural and cognitive functions as you develop a solid grounding in the investigative research methods used in the area.

How is behaviour linked to the brain? What are the biological building blocks of behaviour? On completion, you will be able to answer these questions and more as you understand how we think, the ageing process, and neurological and mental health disorders.

You'll benefit by learning from recognised and passionate leaders in their fields in this academically rigorous program. Throughout your degree you will be an active scientist, delving into diverse fields such as anatomy, biochemistry, psychopharmacology, and neuroscience. You will learn core scientific skills in writing research reports, laboratory work, scientific communication, and the scientific knowledge that will help you explore the biological foundations of human behaviour.

You will gain hands-on experience and make meaningful professional connections. This degree will provide an ideal foundation for a future career in scientific research, science communication, data analysis, and medical sales.
