Overview

The Bachelor of Nursing course will prepare you for increasingly complex health care situations in Australia & internationally. As a graduate you will have acquired the knowledge & skills to be a competent beginning-level professional registered nurse with leadership capability in a range of health care contexts including acute care, primary health care & health promotion.

The course develops through themed studies:
1. Personal & professional development
2. Society, population, health & illness
3. Translation of knowledge for clinical practice
4. Clinical skills.

This course is for entry into First Year of Nursing, for school leavers & those who have commenced any bachelor degree, including nursing. 

You must apply for the Nursing Second Year Diploma (2801184) if you have completed or are currently completing a graded AQF Diploma of Nursing & are eligible or will be eligible for Australian Registration as an Enrolled Nurse, or the Monash Diploma of Tertiary Studies (DoTs) Nursing.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in two units (any study combination) of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 27 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 (or Year 12 equivalent).

Anatomy, Behavioural science, Biosciences, Clinical studies, Nursing, Physiology.
