Develop the knowledge, clinical skills and attitudes needed for professional practice in a range of settings. Benefit from a strong focus on theory and practical experience, including access to our unique clinician-led hospital and health service on campus, which includes authentic hospital wards, clinical units and community areas.

Be prepared to meet healthcare delivery requirements for the 21st century and respond to Australian and international healthcare priorities and trends. Focus on six integrated themes of nursing practice, including safety and quality, cultural safety, evidence-based practice, professional communication, consumers as partners in care, and teamwork. You'll also learn about cultural competence, mental health, primary healthcare and healthy ageing.

Embark on 1,000 hours of nursing placements from your first year of study, in clinical settings across South Australia.

Graduate with the academic requirements needed for registration as, Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). To meet entry requirements, applicants must consider professional registration requirements, including the English Language Skills standard by completing, declaration on how they will demonstrate English language competency, as determined by the NMBA. Once enrolled, students will be required to meet Fitness to Practice in Clinical Placements requirements. For more information, visit http://unisa.edu.au/health/ftp. Students in this program must be registered with the relevant national board. This process is completed by the University after enrolment and no fees apply.

CAREERS Registered nurses can work in, variety of healthcare settings, including: Hospitals, medical clinics, primary health services, community support services, aged care, rehabilitative care, schools, home-based services, drug and alcohol treatment centres, community health organisations, mental health services, international aid agencies, correction facilities
