Overview

This double degree aims to develop a proactive and adaptable graduate who, at a beginner level, will be a competent, ethical clinician, a creative and critical thinker, an independent lifelong learner, and a professional nurse and paramedic. The course uses learner-centred approaches including situation-based learning to enhance students' experiences during the course as well as their readiness for the workplace to deliver compassionate health care in challenging and dynamic environments.

As the course incorporates extensive clinical placements, graduates will be well prepared to meet the health needs of the community in varied nursing and paramedicine settings

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: As for year 12 or equivalent.

Majors

Nursing, Paramedical Sciences, Paramedicine.

The type of careers this qualification leads to may include registered nurse, paramedic, medical dispatcher, medical/surgical nurse, accident and emergency nurse.
